I would suggest POrt Macquarie In NSW mid north Caost. Its about a 3.5 hour drive north of Sydney and it is a fantastic retirment place. If not there, the NSW Central Coast like Woy Woy or TErrigal or Avoca References :
I would suggest that Adelaide can have long winters so if that is what you are trying to avoid, stay clear.
Good retirement spots:
Coffs Harbour and surrounding towns (Urunga, Bellingen, Valla etc) NSW – the atmosphere in the smaller towns is very laid back – nice weather, and Coffs Harbour provides the conveniences you need.
Sunshine Coast, Qld – nice warm weather, very beachy area. But there are also hinterland areas if you prefer which are just so seet (Maleny, Montville etc are very country cottage arts and craftsy kind of places) References :
