I vote Christchurch. Dunedin, way too cold. No chinatowns though.

It depends entirely, totally and completely what your own personal interests are. Apart from Howick in Auckland, there are no "Chinatowns" in NZ

Dunedin would have more affordible housing than Christchurch.
Christchurch probalby have more varied as its bigger population wise eg 400,000 as opposed to around 100,000 in Dunedin

THere is quite an asian popualtion in chch but no chinatown per se…..koreans in particular more recently, but there are other groups which have been there for a while as well and there are other groups there as well…..

My Vote for Christchurch , CHCH is city (not so big,not so small) and has many suburbs so the life in suburbs is very quite.

Dunedin is better.. – Thats just cause I live here but Christchurch is probabaly better for housing ?

Not sure on what you class as affordable housing as house prices have dropped in both city's, comes down to your income I think. Safer well both are safe but I reckon Dunedin more so, having said that Ive never had a problem in ChCh. Chinatown in ChCh Ive herd Riccarton an Avonhead (suburbs) called that a few times but nothing like the Chinatowns in Aussie or the states. Both Dunedin an Christchurch are multicultural cites
