Where to Stay in Christchurch

The first things to consider are where in Christchurch, New Zealand you want your accommodation, and the type of accommodation. Today we will start with giving you an idea of the parts of Christchurch. Christchurch City central business district is built within what is known as “The Four Avenues”.

These four avenues are Rolleston, to the west; Bealey to the north; Fitzgerald to the east; and Moorhouse to the south. Within these four avenues you will find some grand old buildings, dining, nightlife, our casino, a variety of accommodation and of course plenty of shopping.

If you are looking for a bargain, Christchurch is also recognised as the place to shop for a deal. To the north of Christchurch there is a range of accommodation on the northern access routes to the city. Papanui Road is especially recognised as a popular area for visitors to Christchurch to find accommodation.

To the west Riccarton Road is an area you will find a strip of motels, with a couple of motor camps tucked in the back. Those are the main areas for accommodation yet there is accommodation scattered all around Christchurch city, suburbs and surrounding region.

We will also bring you some feedback, reviews and information on accommodation in the surrounding region (up to about an hour and a half drive from the city). A map of Christchurch City will help you to get an idea of where you will want to stay.
