If travelling by air in a family group, is the checked in luggage weighed collectively or individually?

  2. Probably separate, but you can choose what luggage gets weighed together for each person. That will help avoid overcharge unless any single bag is over the limit.

  4. Most airlines weigh luggage on a per ticket basis, so you could check 20kg and so could one of your children, but you couldn't check 38kg and 2kg for your child.

    Each is usually weighed separately. Also, if you are changing to an aircraft operated by a different company, they may have different policies on checked luggage.

  5. It is always separately per paid ticket. So each child will need their own suitcase.

    Do not take one big one or you will pay a fee.

    If I may also suggest that if your children are small and many suitcases will be difficult….pack lightly and wash clothes in hotel or have a laundry service do them.

    It's much better than taking things you don't need and won't use. Have fun.
